Thunderbird and whale is a story belonging to the mythological traditions of a number of tribes from the pacific northwest. The actual story is painted on the back of the plaque.
(if you supersize my pics you may be able to read the story. )this wood that this plaque is made of is just gorgeous. It is western red cedar which only grows in the pacific northwest. This is teh same type of wood from which native americans carved canoes, totem poles, masks, etc. This plaque measures 14 ni diameter. It has a hanging hole on the back so yuo can hang it on your wall. I did have it displayed in my home, so it has some extremely minor wear, but it really is in great condition. (i displayed it on the plate stand which is pictured, ubt not included. )this is a beautiful and unique piece of art, and if you are a collector of native americana it would certainly be an interesting addition to your collection. I usually ship within 24 hours fo receiving cleared payment via usps. I prefer to use priority mail as that is handled with the most care. If given a choice, please remember that parcel post is machine handled and cna be very slow (especially if it's long distance).
I recommend insurance for fragile items. Although i am very careful about packing properly, i can't be responsible for damage or loss once the item has left my hands.
